Fox news reporting the Senate has agreed to extend the Patriot Act for six month.
You want to get rid of the US Postal Service also???
.
Is there any chance you can wise up and want to get rid of the democrats ?
I was thinking the same thing. I would've preferred that they extended it nine months. That way the Defeatocrats could be trying to filibuster it two months before the elections.
Remember when Bush suckered the democrats into calling for a vote on the authorization of force in Iraq two months before the midterm elections in 2002? Looks like the defeatocrats are going to fall into that trap again.
Hey-- I think we've re-discovered the Unabomber!
An example of the absurdity.
Excuse me.
Maybe if our government weren't concentrating on making it very difficult for our own citizens in this country to go about their ordinary everyday business, we could concentrate on taking care of the troops in the field.
LOL!
It's not the federal government. It's your own state government. The federal government doesn't waste time on you unless you are required to get a full background check or are in some contactual relationship with dangerous people they are looking for that crossed state or international boundaries. Give the F.B.I some coffee and answer what they want to know. I trust those people more than any state's prosecuters based on recent news.
OH, I was joking around with a friend at work today. I suggested if the democrats screw up Christmas, Bush should call Congress and the Senate into session on Chanukkah. That would be better than football!
I would love to. Unfortunately, there's this monopoly (which also needs to go away).
Use FedEx and Email.
I can't board an airplane with my Swiss Army knife.
Want to go on from there?
Great. As long as they're not dialing an area code on the Afghan/Pakistan border, they're in good shape.
The problem is, I (and many here) reject your premise that the government is making life difficult for ordinary citizens. But you are not ordinary, are you?
None of that has anything to do with the Patriot Act. It's called common sense and the postal regulations that you cite were instituted in 1999. Well before the Patriot Act was a glimmer in W's eye. Fraud prevention was the reason then. Unscrupulous persons would use POBoxes for scams. It's good to know who you are really sending money to, is it not?
Everyday inconveniences are blamed on the Patriot Act but they will not disappear if the Act sunsets.
And a fool of the best kind.
I advocate for your freedom when you will not.
I don't want you boarding a plane with you widdle Swiss Army Knife.
Want to explain why you want to?
Actually, I AM safe and sound in my house, right now; but, on 9/11, thanks to Clinton and Gorelick and F'n Kerry, people I knew were murdered. The building where my daughter used to work, until recently, was/is on al Qaeda's TO HIT LIST, and if a dirty bomb is set off in a major city, with a strong northerly wind, I'm in the line of fire; so are my daughter and s-i-l and MY soon to arrive grandchild.
The BIGGEST job of our government is TO PROTECT THE CITIZENRY !
Frankly, I don't care if you "trust" the government or not. You're welcome to your opinion, but posting mindless twaddle, which IS your forte, is just a waste of bandwidth.
Well good, then that makes two of us. I tell the GOP fundraisers that very thing, let them have it with both barrels. No more of my money going to loser GOPers, I'll support conservative individuals, but he or she had better have a good track record. No more blanket donations to GOP, nope, I'm done.
A remarkably statist view.
I'm all for freedom and fighting for it .. but you have you foil hat wrapped to tight
Boo!
