Growing up Cronkite was right up there with JFK in our 'liberal' household. But his role had changed from the greatest booster of America's space program to our greatest detractor. His fraudulent role in misreporting the Tet offensive gave cover to the cut and run crowd and he went from the voice of the space program to the face of defeat. Only Ronald Reagan many years later could even begin to undo the damage Cronkite's media establishment had wrought upon America's Resolve. Merry Christmas President Reagan.
