"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
I'd just as soon rely on appeal to authority on that one. Even if there were scientific evidence against it, I wouldn't want to live any other way. If that's dogma, so be it.

Hey, great example. Not being sarcastic, given the nature of the debate on these threads I expected something else entirely.
However, I do not believe that it would be difficult to rationally defend everyones right to life liberty and pursuit of happiness.
I do not think this is what your saying but bare with me, I have to pose the question. Do you think there is no rational argument for these rights?

I'd just as soon rely on appeal to authority on that one. The right to life can very easily be proven logically. You do not need faith to believe it. However, you might need a little faith (or at least a prayer) to convice a liberal of this.
