Ted Stevens threatened to resign if the Senate voted to stop funding this waste of money. Why, oh why, didn't the Senate take him up on it?

It would make the land how many thousands of dollars more valuable, in exchange for how many millions of taxpayer dollars?

I mean, if there's going to be a forcible redistribution of taxpayer funds, it could at least result in something remotely efficient.

Guess it's not a "bridge to nowhere."

I think we forgot the latest news, folks. The "bridge to nowhere" was canceled and removed from the bill. Oh, they still think we're stupid: Alaska still gets all the money. It's just not appropriated to the bridge.
