I like his upbeat message but do not support mega churches.

TV it is free 'cept the cable bill.

SO much for his preaching the other day where he said he and Victoria had been given tickets to spendy seats for a play and the language was so bad that they QUIETLY got up and left so as to not to feed the foul message into their souls.

Well isn't Colorado kinda of like Hollywood Glitz skiing sorta folks?

I don't ski but I did get a catalog for clothes to wear in Aspen and a sweater plain and white on a size 1 6ft tall model cost around $400 bucks and that was one of the cheap items.

So much for getting up Quietly and leaving.

This "story" had been on our local news for two days and not once did anyone ever mention anything about the "liquid" in the airplane seat. I couldn't make heads nor tails of what the flap was all about. Couldn't Victoria have just put a magazine down and "sat on it" like anybody else?

I don't like her, never have--she looks cheap and comes off as kind of dumb. I barely tolerate Joel and used to watch him once in a while, but got extremely turned off to the whole Lakewood "thing" when they took over The Summit.

For some unknown reason, all our local TV stations featured the move, renovation and "grand opening" as a news story (they had to have traffic diverted on the freeway), with extended segments at 4, 5, 6 & 10PM, night after night, and in-depth features on Joel and the church and the facility, on and on, ad nauseum.

No other church has ever, ever gotten anything like this kind of coverage. It was beyond bizarre and I refused to watch it. Can you imagine if one business of some kind had been singled out for that type of (high-$$) news coverage? It just doesn't happen.

It's also true that Joel DOES preach everything the message upthread said about getting preferential treatment and how God does very special things just for him -- and maybe for you, too, if you just listen to Joel. Even the parking spots and the big expensive house. Poor me, I'm not Joel, so I'm stuck with considerably less than Joel's abundance. Does that mean God doesn't love me?

And what I really, really, really don't understand is why couldn't they go skiing in January? Why on Christmas? That's unfathomable. The church is closed on Christmas Sunday? It's mind-boggling.

At least it's "just" Vail, not Aspen. LOL. There's just something so wrong about all of it and I do see symptoms of "too-big-for-one's-britches" syndrome on the part of at least Mrs. Osteen. Gets it from her mother-in-law. Ugh.
