I'm a saint...at least according to scripture. I didn't need the pope to recognize me as such though. Good thing it doesn't work that way.

Tell me do you have any friends or colleagues who are especially noteworthy for their goodness or - dare we say it - saintliness? Have you ever spoken highly of such a person to others and praise them for their good qualities? Have you recommended such persons as examples for others to emulate? If so, you are really doing not much more than the Church is doing in that it establishes role models for Catholics to follow and to aspire to. Certainly there are those who are saints but who are not cannonized. There is nothing in Church teaching that states that cannonization creates a definitive list of the worthy. So you may indeed be a saint in the eyes of God.

The Pope would agree with you on that much. Not all saints are canonized...

It took 8 replies before the truth came out. Now it'll start a 'Catholic bashing' accusatory thread.

Fear not brother, Let God be true and every man a liar.

HL,
Glad to meet another saint! Only Christ can make a
saint... and that covers every single person who
has trusted Christ fully as Savior. The Pope has
nothing to do with it.

Was anyone even asking? Seriously, I think it's a testament to the Church's power through Christ that some Protestants feel compelled to come on these threads to preach against her.
