God of all creation,

Unto us a Child is born, unto us Your Son is given. Thank You for this precious Gift of love, sent to us to die for our sins, Father. We praise You for being our Wonderful Counselor, our Mighty God, our Everlasting Father, our Prince of Peace. Help us to serve You with gladness as we come before Your presence with thanksgiving. We are grateful for Your everlasting mercy and Your enduring truth.

Hear our prayers for our nation today, Father, that the light of Your truth would shine upon it. Please visit us in a mighty way and lighten the darkness of our hearts. Protect us from the threatening perils of our sins. Help us to put our trust in You, that our enemies may not triumph over us. Show us Your ways, O Lord, and lead us in Your paths; that Your Name may be glorified and honored in our nation.

Merciful Lord, we ask that You would help President Bush to always keep Your commandments, and never let him forsake Your law. Wherever he goes, let Your Word and Your wisdom lead him. Help him to receive Your wisdom even as he sleeps, and when he awakens, help him to know Your will in everything he encounters. Lead him by the light of Your Word, that it may instruct him all the days of his life. Grant him rest and peace during these holy days, and restore him so that he may readily serve You in the New Year. Shower his family with special blessings and fill them with joy during this season of the Christ Child’s birth.

Father, You are well aware of the enemies inside and outside of this nation. Enlighten all who have made themselves their own gods and who want to deny Your truths in this country. Guard us against those who want to make our Constitution a living, breathing document, thus molding and shaping it to fit their own selfish desires. We pray that You would sustain our faithful military men and women with your many blessings, Lord, and comfort their families who wait for them. Shelter all who defend our nation and shield them from the plots and schemes of those who seek to destroy us.

Thank You, Father, for each prayer warrior who visits this thread. Thank You for the wonderful friendships that have developed throughout the past several years because of the prayers we have spoken together. Though we have not met in person, we see glimpses of each other’s heart as our prayers are shared. May Your blessings be upon each family and household represented here, and may each one delight in serving You, the one true God. We lift up this prayer in quiet anticipation of the Holy Night and in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

AMEN FAITH AND GRACE TO ALL BRETHREN!

"Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love."
- Jeremiah 31:3

Sometimes the Lord Jesus tells his Church his love thoughts. "He does not
think it enough behind her back to tell it, but in her very presence he
says, 'Thou art all fair, my love.' It is true, this is not his ordinary
method; he is a wise lover, and knows when to keep back the intimation of
love and when to let it out; but there are times when he will make no
secret of it; times when he will put it beyond all dispute in the souls of
his people" (R. Erskine's Sermons). The Holy Spirit is often pleased, in a
most gracious manner, to witness with our spirits of the love of Jesus. He
takes of the things of Christ and reveals them unto us. No voice is heard
from the clouds, and no vision is seen in the night, but we have a
testimony more sure than either of these. If an angel should fly from
heaven and inform the saint personally of the Saviour's love to him, the
evidence would not be one whit more satisfactory than that which is borne
in the heart by the Holy Ghost. Ask those of the Lord's people who have
lived the nearest to the gates of heaven, and they will tell you that they
have had seasons when the love of Christ towards them has been a fact so
clear and sure, that they could no more doubt it than they could question
their own existence. Yes, beloved believer, you and I have had times of
refreshing from the presence of the Lord, and then our faith has mounted
to the topmost heights of assurance. We have had confidence to lean our
heads upon the bosom of our Lord, and we have no more questioned our
Master's affection to us than John did when in that blessed posture; nay,
nor so much: for the dark question, "Lord, is it I that shall betray
thee?" has been put far from us.
He has kissed us with the kisses of his mouth, and killed our doubts by
the closeness of his embrace.
His love has been sweeter than wine to our souls.

Amen, Faith

Proverbs 21:18: "The wicked become a ransom for the [uncompromisingly] righteous, and the treacherous for the upright [because the wicked themselves fall into the traps and pits they have dug for the good.]"

Lord, we bless You because Your judgements are completely right and You watch over Your word to perform it.

Amen.
