By opposing a renewal of the Patriot Act, 2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton may have forfeited her carefully crafted image as a defense hawk who could be trusted to guard America's national security as Commander-in-Chief.
In fact, according to Dick Morris, if Hillary and her fellow Democrats had their way, terrorists would have likely been able to carry out a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge - in a rerun of the 9/11 attacks that would have killed thousands of Americans.
Writing in today's New York Post, former top Clinton adviser notes that Mrs. Clinton joined with all but two Senate Democrats in opposing a renewal of the Patriot Act - including the roving wiretap provision that even her husband supported as president.
Back in the '90s, recalls Morris, "the Republican-controlled Congress refused to enact the [wiretap] legislation promptly — and the Clintons excoriated the GOP for dragging its feet on this vital proposal."
"It is particularly galling that Sens. Clinton and Chuck Schumer — whose New York constituents are in the terrorists' bull's-eye — voted to let these vital protections expire," he fumes.

This time, he's put his finger on something that may severely wound HRC's image as a hawk.
When he comes to the real Hillary I sometimes think he is the only person I believe. The man has loathed her from day one; like my dog I trust his initial instinct.
Morris is right much more than he's wrong. He's right about this too. But it won't come to pass - Clinton and her Dems. will get some kind of last minute concession and then approve an extension before it expires.
She's busy pampering her base with her position now, I'm sure there will be winks and nods to them when she votes her moderate facade tho. Interesting that NEITHER side knows what she'll actually do if given the power...

OK, keep whistling past the graveyard. But Rasmussen has been tracking HRC's "Liberal Index" for awhile now, and she's now in the area of "47%" of those polled believe she's liberal.

Me too, because he's not relying on "dropped" info, but his personal experience with her. Even though he's not tapped into her latest "leaked" info, he knows the person herself.

Terrorists had free reign for 8 years under Bubbas watch. Why should we expect different from her thighness?
The dems have really shot themselves in the foot. In the event of another terrorist attack here in America (most think it's a question of when rather than if), the dems would be able to say it's proof positive that Bush's approach to handling terrorism isn't working and that it's time for a change in leadership.
Without the Patriot Act, the Bush Administration could easily blame a future attack on a lack of legal tools to stop it. They could point out that there were enough votes in the Senate to renew those legal tools, but the dems put politics ahead of defending the nation and filibustered it. With that, the Democratic Party would be finished.
The dems are betting there won;t be another major attack here.
Because knows the Clintons and he understands how they think.
As much as I think Morris is many times wrong--he's dead nuts on target with this one.

Problem with that is it's all of our lives, our children, our families lives that they've just thrown on the table like a poker chip to be won or lost.
The dems desperate grabs for power has been thinning the vale they've hidden behind and their black hearts are becoming increasingly easier to see. And they've shown me with this stunt that they will sacrifice any number of us for their political positioning.
Hillary is also not taking sides on the transit strike in NYC. She want's to keep her pro union base. On the other hand, the retail and commercial end of NYC is hurting. Seems to me as a Senator representing the state she should be showing leadership.
