By opposing a renewal of the Patriot Act, 2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton may have forfeited her carefully crafted image as a defense hawk who could be trusted to guard America's national security as Commander-in-Chief.
In fact, according to Dick Morris, if Hillary and her fellow Democrats had their way, terrorists would have likely been able to carry out a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge - in a rerun of the 9/11 attacks that would have killed thousands of Americans.
Writing in today's New York Post, former top Clinton adviser notes that Mrs. Clinton joined with all but two Senate Democrats in opposing a renewal of the Patriot Act - including the roving wiretap provision that even her husband supported as president.
Back in the '90s, recalls Morris, "the Republican-controlled Congress refused to enact the [wiretap] legislation promptly — and the Clintons excoriated the GOP for dragging its feet on this vital proposal."
"It is particularly galling that Sens. Clinton and Chuck Schumer — whose New York constituents are in the terrorists' bull's-eye — voted to let these vital protections expire," he fumes.

Giev her a break, she is now saving New orleans and poor neglected by Bush blacks. She will be first black Presidenta (of what?) Yea, the main problem with transit workers is lack of dignity they get. Fire them all, just like Regan did!
I think they never took it all that seriously; even in the aftermath of 9/11 they acted like it was a one-time fluke highly unlikely to be repeated. Now they act like it is all a bad dream or some scare story made up by the GOP.

Anyone who seriously believes she is a hawk is so stupid that they are likely to be manipulated in any number of ways between now an 08.

In a very rare unrehearsed interview last night with Greta Van Susteren, Hillary showed a side of herself rarely seen.
She talks really, really fast and has an angry ,smug, holier than thou confrontational tone.
She raved on about how fabulous the "Clinton" Administration was in dealing with disasters ( never mind they were mainly self-created)and trashed Bush .
Greta pointed out that Clinton, nor any previous administration never had to deal with anything like 9-11 or multiple killer hurricanes, but Hillary, instead of acknowledging Greta, just continues on with her talking points, saying they had floods, too.
Greta, as an excellent lawyer, asks the right questions.
The more people see Hillary, the less they will like.
"Hillary is also not taking sides on the transit strike in NYC"
If the NYC Transit strike continues, every one will be forced to comment .
There is very little support for the TWU. They make $55-$65K per year plus excellent benefits and they can retire with full pension at 55. They are asking for a 9% yearly raise and retirement at 50.
For all of us who will have to wait until we are 67 to retire, this is obscene.
Alas, poor Hitlery. She will actually have to take a stand on something.
Voting against the Patriot Act might get her votes on the UWS but it will kill her in the rest of America. This time Dick Morris is right.
Dick Morris taught the Clintons all they know. But after Bill beat him up when he tried to quit, Dick doesn't like them anymore.
