If it were true this would never have reached print. Never.
No, but there's something about "just crazy enough to be true"..
I don't believe it went down like that, but...
Ahmadi Nezhad really is pwned by the Mullahs, true, He's a hardliner that spouts the hardliner rhetoric, but I seen him as a Marion Barry type dedicated public servant with a following. The rhetoric he spouts is some pretty jingoistic low-brow stuff, for -any- "leader" So he's the barking dog, and he's caught between the seemingly Western Friendly intellectuals and the Mullahs that weild the true power.
My take may be sketchy, but I think despite the Bombast, Ahmadi Nezhad just might be the guy they want. -He's ineffectual. A Seatwarmer, -Weekend at Ahmadi's.
This is probably just a case of a couple of idiots just plugging Tenet and Goss's names into the story.
-Considering the source.

Yes, that's what I thought when I read it. I wonder why Ledeen wrote it, he's Mr. Iran and I wonder what his motive is. That new president is driving them all nuts, that's for sure.
