New details that emerged yesterday about William F. Weld's tenure at a small Kentucky college, which collapsed in a financial scandal two months ago, threatened to push the issue closer to the forefront of his campaign for governor of New York.
Several of his opponents, Republicans and Democrats alike, seized on the revelations to either raise questions about Mr. Weld's managerial competence or warn that the federal investigation of possible student loan fraud at the school, Decker College, would hobble his chances of winning the Republican nomination in 2006.
"If Bill Weld becomes the nominee, he will be on the defensive talking about the Decker College fiasco from now until November, instead of being able to address the issues New Yorkers care about, like jobs and cutting taxes," said John Faso, a Republican former assemblyman and a candidate for governor.
As if to underscore that point, New York State's Democratic Party issued a statement by its chairman, Herman D. Farrell Jr., who asked a question that had the ring of an emerging campaign theme: "If this is how Mr. Weld ran a small college in Kentucky," Mr. Farrell said, "how can we trust him to run New York?"
The new details about what happened at Decker appeared in The New York Times on Sunday. The article examined Mr. Weld's role as chief executive officer of the for-profit trade school in Louisville, which closed in October amid a federal investigation of possible student loan fraud.
While the troubles during Mr. Weld's 10-month tenure at the helm of Decker threatened to gain traction as a campaign issue, it was unclear how much it would hurt him among the senior Republicans whose support he needs to secure the nomination. He received more votes than the other candidates when Republican county leaders met...

But Weld loves destroying things... the MA Republican Party, small colleges in Kentucky...
He doesn't have to destroy New York, it's already been done.
I don't mean NY, per se, I mean the NY GOP (yes, there's still one there, they actually HAVE elected officials there -- unlike in MA).
Why would Weld think he can get elected anywhere?
It might've been him or one of the two troglodyte RINOs that followed him.
"Why would Weld think he can get elected anywhere?"
Because Weld is so f'ing arrogant, he thinks he is God's gift to the human race.
I have no idea abou gay guys, etc.
However, there was no failure of the security system on 9/11. It functioned exactly as designed. Security had absolutely no legal reason to refuse boarding to the hijackers, as they had broken no laws (besides conspiracy, which wasn't known) right up to when they started cutting throats. Even the knives they carried on board were perfectly legal at the time.
Obviously, the security system was not well designed for this unanticipated threat. But it is comprehensively unfair to blame those operating the system when the problem was a failure of imagination on the part of those making the rules they worked with.

Weld is a globalist CFR goon, who advocates the surrender of this nation into a Socialist Community of North America.

Although he IS fun at a party, he must be stopped.
It's time like these I realize what a gift Jesse Helms was. After all he did deep six Weld's would be ambassadorship.
Jesse Helms was probably the smartest man to sit in the U.S. Senate in recent memory... and best of all, he didn't give a flying f**k what the RINOS or the 'Rats/Media thought of him. He knew what Weld was and what he represented. (And who says Jesse was a johnny-come-lately to the cause of AIDS ? He slew Weld, who WAS political AIDS).
Bill Weld appointed, I believe, Jane Garvey to run Logan. It was always a patronage job and Garvey was no more competent than any prior incumbent. She later became head of FAA, where she had dismantled the air marshal program by 9/11.
Nothing anybody did at Massport seemed to influence 9/11, although the security there was horrible, it was not a factor. The terrorists didn't break any laws until the planes were in the air.
For the record, neither Mr Weld nor Mrs Garvey is gay. Frankly, I'd take gay, if it came with "competent."
