Eliot Spitzer's a liberal idiot, but Maurice "Hank" Greenberg isn't a liberal Democrat. Spitzer would have given him a free pass if he were.
Like any CEO, Greenberg has given campaign contributions to some Democrats. But he didn't give a penny to any Presidential candidate but President Bush in 2004, according to fec.gov.
Mario Cuomo's potential role in this is intriguing, but there seems to be a split between the Schumer and Spitzer wing of the New York Democrat Party. According to recent news articles, Schumer and Spitzer hate each other - probably because they are so much alike and have never met a television camera they didn't like.
The REAL most dangerous place to be in America would be between Schumer and Spitzer and a TV camera.

Did Spitzer formally announce that he's running for governor? I haven't been paying attention to the blood-sucking leech.
