Now, female reindeer have horns, that I knew. I'll have to ask some of the local hunters if they have ever seen such a thing.

Well, I'll be damned. I never knew a doe could have horns Technically they were antlers( mostly calcium) and not horns ( keritin and bone)Antlers fall off every year; horns don't. Usually both sexes of an animal will have horns, but males are usually the only ones with antlers. This doe must have had a hormone imbalance.

an aquaintance of mine shot an 11 point doe a couple years ago here in MI. seems like this is becoming more common. natural selection maybe? i don't know about elsewhere, but MI sells a lot more doe permits and many counties have an extra antlerless late season.
