That is what is different!

Karen Hughes is one of the most savvy politicians I've ever seen. She orchestrated his first campaign. I've seen her in action in person and she is positively electric. She knows how to get W to connect with the people. He is naturally a man who sees what needs to be done and goes out to get it done. He doesn't think he needs to explain how he's doing it. To him it's a waste of time explaining. He thinks "getting it done" is all he needs to do and that the completed objective is all the American people need to see. I understand how he thinks and it's a shame that he can't be left alone to do his job. It just makes me furious that his enemies keep him distracted all the time. If he had a D after his name, the same people would be praising him for being such a dedicated leader and such a busy man who "works hard for the American people".

Everybody needs to read your post #976.

You're exactly right.

I had completely forgotten about Karen Hughes riding back into town, but this has her fingerprints all over it.

I agree with you about Bush -- he's not much of a game player and it only worsens the problem in D.C. because they DEMAND that he play the game, thus taking him off point.

But isn't that what they are trying to accomplish anyway? I mean, they can't have him actually succeeding, can they?

Exactly. The cynicism, hypocrisy and outright dishonesty of the President's enemies is beyond the power of mere words to describe.

Hypocrisy: a feigning to be what one is not, or to believe what one does not.
