"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

Raising and supporting armies, maintaining a Navy, making rules for the government and regulation of those Armed Forces, and sending them to war are the Constitutional powers granted to Congress pertaining our Armed Forces. The actual waging of Congressionally approved wars (which this is), and the decision as to when the Armed Forces sent into war by Congress come home, is a power granted to the President by our Constitution.

This attempt by the Democrats to control the actual manner in which a war is conducted, is a clear attempt at seizing powers not granted to the Legislative Branch by the US Constitution.

"Unchecked powers" indeed...it's the Democrats who are trying to destroy the system of checks and balances set in place by the US Constitution.
