I've finally learned to balance my check book and that I am a poor judge of man-flesh.

Dear Self;
I was probably already too tired to start this tonight.
Vacation is a good thing; but I still have to adjust!

The peace comes from strength not appeasement. Leadership means making tough calls not looking at Public Opinion polls to decide your principals. That current Democrat Party Leaders are so recklessly irresponsible and power mad that they are completely unfit for any measure of any political power at any level

That I should have asked for help when I was failing in high school, and subsequently might have been considered more than a hopeless case by parents, teachers and "guidance counselors" and been able to go to college.
It's my responsibility, but when I was too young to know better, I could have used some help.
So to answer your question directly: A college education is not an option but a necessity.

I learned that wanting what you get is better than getting what you want.
I learned that, no matter how good-looking a woman is, somewhere, somehow, someone is tired of putting up with her crap.
I learned that, by the time a man realizes his father was right, he usually has a child who thinks he's wrong.
And finally, I learned that -- between Democrats and my furbabies -- the Democrats are the dumb animals.

I don't know about 25 years, but in the past 7 years I've learned about politics and conservatism and actually become pretty smart politically. I have to give credit for the transformation to Rush Limbaugh back in 98 then to my current favorites Medved, Prager, and Steyn after that. Even though I've learned a lot, I've still got a long way to go especially when it comes to doing the right thing.

I've learned that parenthood and life in general is hard, very hard, and you're not always thrilled with the results....that life can be pretty discouraging at times and if you're a dreamer like me, an idealist, forget it......you never win at life....you try to keep up.....
the other thing......if at all possible, never, ever move away from your parents or your siblings....I did it and regret it to this day, over 25 yrs ago......I come from a loving and close family and should have thought more before moving "out west" with the hubby...honestly can say that MY family treats him better than his own ( hell, they treat him better than me...LOL)

having and raising children is the most rewarding and important thing I have done....far and away.
the culture war is worth fighting
after nearly two decades outside the US, I am glad to be home in Dixie
i miss my dead friends and kinfolk...especially my dad
do right early on....it makes later on easier
don't be afraid to succeed and be fair and honest but bruise those who try to screw you over so they don't come back for seconds
immortality is for youth....so live that way young before you get scared from so many responsibilities
never ever have anything to do with an abortion
learn firearms...learn to hunt and eat what you kill
if you're a southern man, get used to being under the spell of passive aggressive women...beats the hell out of confrontational women
grandmothers are tops...come to think of it
enjoy toddlers....they grow up
nothing beats a good pick-up or a reliable DC-3 or a wooden yawl
teach your boys how to fight and your girls to stand up when they have to
teach your boys not to be bullies and to help the weak
learn how to drive fast....
only buy dogs that can hunt or protect you and your family
learn to like cats...it's hard but if I can do it anyone can
blind idealism is best for the young, it's a liability when older
generalizations are generally true contrary to modern relativist logic
teach your children about God early on and take them to church so they get a foundation for later on
22) be eternally grateful to God for being born here...goes double if born in the Red Zone....and appreciate and honour where you came from and those who came before you. God and our way of life are worth fighting and dying for.

We're of an age, you know. In the past quarter-century I've learned that half of the stuff I was told by my teachers and elders was crap, and the other half will save my life, and that not only do I not know which half is which, but they didn't when they were telling it to me. And worse, now that I am telling my younger relatives what is unquestionably 100% true, I don't know which half of it is crap either.
Well, you asked...

Still, I'm glad that ours are better than *theirs*...over there.

I've learned that family & friends are worth more than all the material things in the world!
That learning to live with what you can afford & being content with it, is better than wishing you had that mansion on the hill & always being disastisfied!
Lastly, that the political left is worse right now than it was 25 years ago or ever has been!
Ooops, one more, Dogs really are Mans Best Friend!
