"What have I learned in the past 25 years?":

That half of the human beings on half of the earth are half crazy. I haven't discovered which half and where. I think we just all take turns. Maybe I'm half-crazy today, maybe not. If not today, then probably tomorrow.

I must be lots older than you, then. My teachers were wonderful and made sure we learned what was being taught. If we did not, then students were kept in that grade for another year. Some got spanked if they needed it without the parents suing the schools. We knew that if we did wrong at school or anywhere else for that matter, our parents were sure to find out. I was blessed by having a mother who knew if we did wrong without anyone telling her so we were very good. She is 101 and the most wonderful lady I have ever been around. When we were down a few weeks ago, she was singing, "Going Home", as we left. We know we will not have her much longer but I have never known anyone to reach 100. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Very good. It is so true. I got interested in genealogy many years after my dad died and never knew who his grandmother was on his dad's side of the family. We have her name but no parents or siblings. We are still searching. But, I now have about 9800 names in my file, the oldest date is in the 800's but in a family mine married into, the average age is nearly 61 years and 39 generations. I am still searching. It helped months ago when my dh bought me 2 flat screen monitors so I can have my FTM on one and the internet site on the other. I have saved tons of paper from not having to print info I found.

Merry Christmas.

Our younger daughter died last year and we still miss her with all our hearts. She can never be replaced but we know that she touched so many lives during her too short lifetime. I learned that bad things do happen to good people. We also know that she is with her Lord and Savior and for that we are grateful. She does not have any more of the terrible pain she had been in for so many months before she died.

Last Christmas, I did not want to put up a tree but some freepers told me to do it. I did and wanted to decorate it in a different way. I thought of all of our Beanie Babies we had collected so I used them. This year, I was going back to regular decorations but our other daughter told me to use the Beanies again. I did, added some extra lights and some icicles and it is beautiful. It brought back so many memories of where we were when we bought certain Beanies. We had so much fun buying them. I learned to tell everyone, I love you every time we are together. We never ever know what will happen. I am sorry about your loss. It is something we never get over.

Thanks.

I loved Mississippi, lived in Boloxi some years back. It was in a trailor by the back bay, and when I was a boy there (circa '59) a hurricane came through that bull-zeyed Boloxi. It took the pier of the trailor court a mile into the swamp.

I guess if I were to look at that place today, the storm surge was probably enough to have changed the whole face of the trailer court and swamp. The satellite photos were horribly telling; the before and after photos showing whole beach towns compared with flats where the roads alone remained.

Have a g'nite, OK?

19. That DeNiro is an overrated actor, while Harvey Keiter is underrated.

Man, that Keiter fellow must be underrated, I've never heard of him or he's so underrated you've misspelled his name.

Do you really think DeNiro is overrated? I think he is a superb actor, perhaps the best American actor of his generation. I concede Harvey Keitel is underrated.

That Chinese restaurants do exist. Actual sit & serve restaurants with menus, and not just buffets with deep-fried crap. (What a hick I am!)

1. If you fight a war... fight to win.

2. Enjoy your life now... You'll be old a lot sooner than you think.

3. Be patient. Life isn't like TV... Things don't solve themselves in an hour.

4. High technology isn't always better... My '48 Harley is as dependable as my 2001 Kawasaki.
