Thought this might be a hilarious contribution to the thread. Maybe Pinch takes after his grandmother?
EXCERPT: GRAY LADY TURNS TABLES ON 'CON GAL'
By MICHAEL WHITE and LARRY CELONA, NEW YORK POST
May 12, 2005 -- An elderly member of the family that controls The New York Times nearly lost $5,000 to a con woman.......
Jean Sulzberger, 83, was walking along Lexington Avenue when she bumped into a woman who claimed to know her. "She said, 'Oh, years ago, you gave me money, and I'm so lucky to have run into you,' " Sulzberger recounted to The Post.
"Then she started her story 'I had breast cancer, and I got kicked out of my house. We have no place to go.'....."
Sulzberger gave the woman a check for $4,000. But she mistakenly dated it 2004 and the bank refused to cash it.
The woman returned and asked for $5,000 cash. Sulzberger got it Tuesday at a bank, where a suspicious teller called cops.
When Sulzberger returned home, two detectives were waiting for her. She agreed to meet the woman as part of a sting.
Undercover cops were watching and arrested Bonnie Demitro, 41, of The Bronx.......
"Of course, I've learned my lesson," Sulzberger said. "It's just so amazing that this thing happens all the time."

Hopefully all the bigwigs that have been defering salary in lieu of stock realize the error of their ways.
Also hopefully they all go broke over at the times.

They should just sell it to the Red Chinese or Islamofacists. Why try to hide their true colors.

Sorry about that I was referring to the NY Post. Isn't it supposed to be perceived as more conservative i.e. more accurate?

So, here's what we've got:
In two years, the NYT plumets 40%, the WaPo has a good 2004 but a crummy 2005 and barely ends even while the S&P gains a slow but steady 20%.
DAMN those EVIL Republicans and their tax cuts. Gonna bankrupt the country, I tell ya!
