Safety first- unplug that BS meter before it explodes.

That isn't quite the point that I was trying to make.

I hope that I agree even more with the next President, i.e., I hope the next President is still tough on terror, but at the same time reduces taxes further, makes government smaller, encourages/requires even more personal responsibility....

I believe that on some of these issues, President Bush is not as conservative as I am. On other issues, I believe that he may be just as conservative, but is hamstrung by the necessity of playing politics and the reality of how far he can push at one time.

Bush's unpopularity means that GOP office seekers, including its 2008 presidential aspirants, may see themselves as better off by shunning the party's incumbent in the White House.

Then again they may love having President Bush right by their side. Use of the word "MAY" makes this just another piece of biased opinion, not worth even a read.

This article is nothing but a figment of the anti-Bush writer's unhinged imagination and perhaps, sexual fantasy. It is obvious what kind of obscene satisfaction the reporter derives from writing filth and fiction like this one.

His weak points.

Hmm. . . he uses (shudder) TOBACCO. . . chews, actually.

He shows thought and applies technology, instead of spring-loading to the obvious solution. Case in point: the Fence with Mexico: he suggests a virtual one, with effective sensors, rather than a physical one that can be breached or circumvented. . .

Oh, and he's a Washington Deadskins fan, as his father used to be their coach, as opposed to the One True Team, the Pittsburg Steelers. . . (evil grin).

Seriously, tho. . .he does tend towards tech over physical measures.

Still, name ID means everything in modern politics, and in that regard McCain has the early lead.

controllers of the GOP select the presidential caricature

I presume that you mean GHWB, Dole, and GWB! Even Wendell Willkie in 1940 somehow became the establishment pick at the last minute.

I think it is Congress that was bringing the President's numbers down. Along with all those so called Republican Governors raising taxes.

According to my conservative friends, Bush's numbers are down for one reason, the illegal immigrants and his SHAMnesty that he is trying to ram down our throats. Most of us believe he is doing a good job on the WOT.

That could be right, but whose numbers are lower.

Sure is getting obvious isn't it?
