Even the NY Times article admitted the administration informed appropriate members of congress and ran this by a secret court before proceeding.

Even in the article from this post it says the NSA "only obtained warrants for domestic taps" and not for calls to International numbers. The NSA is already authorized to monitor International phone and message traffic. I don't think there's a restriction against monitoring calls to or from the US that are International in nature. The president came out swinging in his radio address today. I hope he shuts those bastards up.

If this was simply a judgment call -- which it appears to be -- and no laws were violated or liberties trampled (in the real world, not the overheated basements of the subversive Left), then the president was simply invoking extraordinary measures for an extraordinary time.

I really think this is just another notch in the Left's plan to wear the public down with repeated charges of scandal. Even if none of the allegations stick, eventually people become convinced that any administration earning so much opprobrium MUST be hiding something. And they're willing to vote Democrat just to make it go away.

The only hope is to spread the good news via the emerging media, and to tell the truth in the four corners of Christendom.

Secret court. The very concept is disturbing.
