Yeah, and they aren't even satisfied that the order was scaled all the way down to only 183 planes INSTEAD OF THE 750 THAT WERE ORIGNALLY PLANNED!!! Sheeesh!

It's not overkill, it's underkill, in terms of numbers. If we commit to a small number of superior ... ahhh ... platforms, aren't we susceptible to being swamped by an overwhelming number of inferior opponents? This is what has always worried me vis a vis China. I always imagine some massive assault on an aircraft carrier, where we simply can't counter every single threat, and one penetration is fatal.
