Unfortunately, the disengagement premise is a fantasy because the Iranians and the Arabs are not prepared to accept even a shrunken Jewish State in their midst that seeks to stay out of regional conflict. The problem is trouble will still seek out Israel rather that receding from the country. There is the threat of Al Qaeda and Iran. What Israel is now facing is the lull before the storm. At this time what is needed is not a denial of the obvious, that Israel in living in dangerous neighborhood, but rather a recognition the threats facing Israel are real and to develop strategies to deal with them. God will never allow the Jewish people to be destroyed but they have to also do their part to secure their future in the Land he promised to Abraham and his descendants as their eternal possession. These days, evil swirls around the House Of Israel and the Jewish people have to ask themselves how they intend to overcome it. To my mind, and I'm sure Caroline would agree with me here, that is the crux of the situation facing Israel today.
