The position of Democrats seems to be that it is easier to hunt down and kill terrorists than it is to make a living flipping burgers. Democrats are telling us we should withdraw from Iraq, so that the Iraqis will have an incentive to stand up and fight for themselves. When it comes to the War on Poverty, however, Democrats want the federal government to continue assisting the needy indefinitely.
Which is easier, learning how to fight terrorists in Iraq or finding a way to make a living in the United States? Our steady stream of immigrants would indicate the latter, but the rhetoric of Democrats points to the former.

Of course. One of the main reasons they hate the war on terror -- because those dollars are not available to be spent on building and maintaining the DEPENDENCY CLASS OF VOTERS...the base of their power. Just plain ole socialists.
It's time to cut and run immediately!
(Never thought I would hear myself say that)
That's because these programs are theirs.......how can they explain that the "War on Poverty" has resulted in more people going under the so-called "poverty line"? The Dims are morally, spritually, and ideologically corrupt.
Did you forget the sarcasm tag or are you anencephalic?

The funny thing about the War on Poverty is that the only way to win it is to reduce taxes, enact business friendly policies, and foster an environment friendly to competitive business.
Precisely! Our so-called "War on Poverty" is only resulting in more poor people! We should get out of the slums immediately!
Then they should line up and kill terrorists.
