DETROIT -- A conservative Christian group said it is considering a boycott of Ford Motor Co. products after the automaker said it would run corporate ads in gay and lesbian publications.

The American Family Association, based in Tupelo, Miss., said Thursday that "the option of a boycott is now very much alive."

The statement followed an announcement by Ford on Wednesday, Dec. 14, that it would run corporate ads in some gay and lesbian publications in 2006.

I'll settle for them stopping their war on traditional family values.

It is culture war. Why should Christians support companies that support those that hate and persecute Christians using such things as hate crimes, the evil lie of seperation of church and state, etc.?

You don't think that rational people can choose to support companies which promote values they believe in, and withdraw support from companies which promote values (or lack of?) they disagree with?

That's not blackmail, that's using one's God-given sense of discrimination. The good kind, that we'd all be dead if we didn't exercise.

From my personal observation- boycotts rarely have any lasting effective results.

This might get interesting. I think Fird is attempting to sit on the fence; however, lukewarm appears to not be a menu option -they will have to choose as corporate citizens just what in society they support with the profits they make from society.

We're not Ord fans anyway, but it's always good to know which companies promote which agendas and programs.

They don't? How then did the left succeed in getting things shifted culturally their way? The Boycotts are working against Ford.
