show me one viable republican candidate for 2008 who is to the right of McCain on these issues? sure, you'll get some "Gary Bauer" type candidates in the primaries who might take him on. But where is George Allen on these issues, for example.

Indeed. Perhaps McCain doesn't realize just how unpopular he is with rank-and-file Republicans, but even here in blue California, I doubt he'd win our primary. He won't win New York's primary. Rudy has that locked up assuming he runs.

I'd be dead before I'd vote for McInsane. And even if dead, I'd rise up again and vote (I live in Chicagoland; the dead always vote) for ANYONE but McLame in the primaries.
