Police closed down a section of West Burke Street and surrounded a large apartment building Thursday after an older woman inside fired several shots from a shotgun, according to officers with the Martinsburg Police Department.
The woman, Alice Sajovic, eventually agreed to turn herself in after speaking with police, including a phone conversation with Martinsburg Police Department Chief Ted Anderson. An arrest warrant charging her was issued Thursday night.
Nobody was injured.
Her gun, a .410 shotgun that looked to be an older gun, was placed into the back of a police cruiser. As the woman was escorted from the building, she stopped to check her mail. She exclaimed that she had received a Christmas card and also commented on being on "Candid Camera," referring to two people taking her photograph.

Fire away, Freepers! (pun intended)
I assume she's out of her mind. Wouldn't she be as deaf as Foxy Brown if she squeezed off several loads of a shotgun inside an apartment?
Maybe she saw a mouse...?
A little .410 popgun?
Mice!
I'm kinda interested in the.410.
Popgun is right! That thing is practically nothing.
410's are small loads.
But still loud (I imagine) in an apartment.
.410 is more powerful than a .44magnum or a .45LC
Actually, this is very sad...she may be suffering from dementia or Alzheimers....My mom got AZ about 5 years ago, a very aggressive variety, and within 2 years had to be put in a secure lockdown area in a nursing home....she was seeing people in her house all the time, imagining that people were coming out of the TV and eating her food, was leaving notes around her house for them to stay out of certain rooms, etc...very powerful delusions....probably something similar here....
I prefer a 12 myself, however, I would not want to be on the receiving end of a 410 though.
Darned Maryland anti-gun zealots. Now we can't even shoot up our own apartments if we want to!
Just another reminder here, folks... certain types of sporting goods are for outdoor use only.
That'll teach that darn cat not to scratch on Granny's sofa!
After the woman turned herself in, the apartment building's owner was allowed to go inside the apartment, with a warning that gunshots had destroyed some walls. Officers joked with him that he had some drywall work to do.
hmmm?!? Well there was; no harm, no "foul", so I guess joking is okay.
She never did like that china pattern...
Was she watching the MSM evening news by any chance???
I think we have all been there... (take that Dan!)
That'll teach those upstairs neighbors! They always play their stereo so loud. And what's up with the other noises?
Blam! Blam!
i love my stainless steel Springfield M6-Scout .22LR over a .410 3" chamber... you can get them in .22Hornet too. they also make a folding stock pistolgrip model now that's outstanding but no ammo storage in the stock like this one does. you can also get different length barrels for them since it's held together with a push pin. they were made for the AirForce for survival pack in ejector seats.
