...And I'm still wondering HOW (and WHO) outed Buckhead after the Rathergate affair.

I know DU tried to out Buckhead, but was unsuccessful. I think a member of the MSM read through his posts and pieced his identity together. Was it someone from the L.A. Times, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution or someone else?

Buckhead left some hints about his identity in his posts, but fewer than NCPAC.

I've never done a search on Buckhead, but it seems a little odd that a bright man like him would be posting a lot of personal information on a public message board.

Plus, I've seen some really brilliant FReepers dig up information RE: ISP's and IP's (or whatever you call them) and post them here about Rats. Can't some super savvy Rats do the same to us??

(Can you tell I'm getting paranoid? :)

Over the course of 5-6 years of posting, I'd left several crumbs, and Peter Wallsten of the LA Times was able to sift through and figure it out through some careful and clever work.
