According to the State Department, South Africa is a parliamentary democracy. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2898.htm. Relations with the US are scored as "excellent."

It's also worth noting that its currency, the Rand, floats freely against the US dollar and has generally appreciated over the last 10 years.

In addition the country has a large and liquid stock exchange that is freely accessible by offshore investors.

I agree. The ashes of a psychopathic muultiple murderer in a country loaded with murdering crazies. Pity we couldn't just deport him there and leave it at that.
