In the 19th Century and for much of the early 20th Century, the best minds worked hard to make Communism come true because it was assumed that Utopia was waiting around the corner. It never arrived. That's why today, Marxism is of historical interest only. We found out the hard way that building a paradise on earth is easier said than done.

Not entirely true. I suppose the term "Marxist" has been soiled to the extent that few people call themselves by that name. Still, Marx's ideas have been folded into a lot of "conventional wisdom" -- they're the driving force behind the WTO/Anarchist folks, for example, not to mention our own beloved Moonbats.
