Wow- one thing we know for sure- the percentage of Iraqis voting today will be a complete and total embarrassment to Americans. Somewhere around 70% will vote, maybe higher. All Americans can muster is around 55%

They take busses to other polling places in Dee-troit here all the time. And on to the next, and the next, etc. And the mayor is very aware of it.

I guess I'll have to not form any opinion about the success of today's elections until I get a chance to hear Levin and Dean tell me how to think about it (/dimthink).

I'm a girl and it's still okay for us to wear turtlenecks :-)

Overall turnout is expected to be in 60s. It would be great if it reaches at least 70% of registered voters. It would sound a lot more impressive [whatever the % it is truly impressive already] and thus harder to ignore. The MSM will try to ignore it, or find ten ways to denigrate and belittle the election, but anything that makes it harder for them makes me happy.

Howdy, Folks! Thought I'd Join the Live Update!

It's a sandstorm in Ramadi right now, late afternoon. It has been very quiet today. We had a lot of BOOM! sounds going off in the city the last few nights, but today, nothing.

Reports I get that I can talk about, are showing a large turnout in places all over country - we're obviously kind of mum about Al Anbar still, at least until returns start coming in.

The troops' main focus is, get our own missions done, and let the good people here do what they need to do - on their own. And that's the most exciting thing to watch!!!

Just watching Biden and Lindsey Graham on Today Show and both of them are telling us the problems are just beginning.

Yeah, Lindsey Graham, RINO in charge.

In today's Katie and company on NBC Anne Curry led with "Today the spotlight is on capital hill where hurricane Katrina panel...blah, blah, blah".

The election must be going FAR better than anyone had hoped.

This has probably been posted already, but Rush played a great audio clip yesterday from an Iraqi woman on the street. She said, "If anyone criticizes the United States for what they've done, they can go to hell!"

Yeah. They're going to be eating crow for the rest of their lives. Preach the doom and gloom brothers!
