Someone e-mailed this to me. You can buy a ticket online to the Music City Bowl in Nashville between Virginia and Minnesota and the tickets are given to area servicemen and women. Since this game is on the 29th, it will probably be benifiting those that couldn't make it home for Christmas.

Merely an internet ruse to get people to actually buy tickets to that game.......

I really need someone to donate one, possibly two, Rose Bowl tickets to me. I could hogtie my wife in the closet for three days, so really I just need one.

I'm sure there is a profit motive in there, but I'm sure the tickets actually get to the soldiers. I don't think it would be on the University web site if it wasn't legit.

I agree with you and my comment was meant as sarcasm only considering the fact that this is the first time I actually heard of THIS bowl which will be played by total uncontenders to anything.........

Personally, if I was the marketing director of ANY sporting event or team I would make it a point to give any and all unsold tickets free of charge to any active military personnel who showed up for the game in uniform or who could prove they were active.........

Okay, you're not going to be a likely philanthropist. I thought I'd just post it on a national forum. Beg, if you will, in public.

Really, anyone who wants to spend a lovely evening with Dog Gone (and his wife if he doesn't have to hogtie her and leave her in the closet) should jump on this opportunity.

For a military connection, my son is going to Marine basic training after his junior year in 2006 and into Officer Training School with them after he graduates.

I'll still be watching it on TV, I just know it.

Tell you what, the best seats to the Rose Bowl (even tho its minus a Big Ten Michigan team) are right there in front of you. You can watch in your shorts or jammies, drink what you want, smoke what you want and if you have Tevo or whatever or comcast DVR, you can even pause the game to join your wife for a little while who is hogtied in the closet.

And if you still feel lonely, I'll keep you company right here but keep in mind that on my days off I nap all afternoon between wakeups no matter what is on TV.....

I know you're right, but I'm one of the few USC guys in an office full of Longhorns, many of whom have made plans to go out there.

If my tied up wife won't help, I'll try to see if you're around.

Ooooooooooohhhhh, sorry to hear that. I like your longhorn buddies better than you! You could redeam yourself if you could convince a couple million of your friends to jump up and down on the St. Andreas Fault then play your game in Texas or wherever.....
