Mondesire, the Sun's publisher and editor, wrote that McNabb is a "mediocre talent" who tries to disguise his ineffectiveness behind "some concocted reasoning" that African-American quarterbacks who scramble are somehow lesser "field generals."
Can you imagine the outcry if Rush Limbaugh had said that instead of what he did say? OMG. There probably would have been rioting and looting.
Mondesire also claimed that McNabb's "failure as a team leader off the field" led to the Terrell Owens situation. If McNabb "had the courage to offer only a tiny fraction" of his bonus to Owens and running back Brian Westbrook, Mondesire wrote, the "media circus" could have been avoided.
CLASSIC LIBERALISM/SOCIALISM! Take from the rich (McNabb in this case) and give to the "poor" (T.O. - whatever! LOL), even if poor, poor, T.O. agreed to the deal and then wouldn't live up to it. McNabb is the QB, NOT the contract negotiator for the team. Geez, this guy is an idiot. Westbrook got his deal done. I'm not aware that McNabb had to hand over any money for that to do be done.
I think the problem with McNabb's "leadership" is that he trusted Reid and Eagles management to take care of business with T.O. and put him in his place. They didn't do it, for whatever reason. Ultimately, I put this whole debacle on Reid. HE is the one who brought T.O. in. HE is the one who let T.O. be the most obnoxious jerk the NFL has ever seen last year, and HE is the one who let the off-season drama drag on and on and on.
Sorry, but this guy is pretty spot on. McNabb has ability but his nerves our shot. I have heard from people who know that he was a total mental mess the night before the Super Bowl. He choked in the big game and lost the respect of T.O., who despite being a egotistical bastard, showed up to play with an injury. That led to TO's antics this season.
