Is Mr. Broder a German citizen? This was actually printed in Der Spiegal? In 2005? Although my opinion of Europe is very low I wouldn't have thought that this sort of rhetoric would be acceptable in a Germany considering the events of 1933-45. I hope this is some sort of very tasteless joke.

Make no mistake. Despite the scholarly tone the author tries to affect and his empty euphemisms about resettlement this article (like Ahmadinejad ramblings) are a call to genocide directed against the people of Israel. Hitler and his cronies were seldom more clear.

Iran is plotting a second Holocaust against the Jews. Many in Europe, the UN, and even in the US left are consciously aiding them.

In 1945 world said "Never Again!" The courage and resolve of Israel and George W Bush may be the only thing left upholding that vow. Please don't let us down.

Henryk M. Broder - the author of this satire - is a Jewish German who contributes to various German newspapers and magazines. From the very beginning, he supported the WOT in Iraq, which makes him a rare bird in Europe. As far as I remember, some of his articles have been received friendly here at FR.

This piece - call it a satire or a polemic - gets its strange spin because it is taken for face value by the Iranians. It is utterly absurd to think that his intention is to " call to genocide directed against the people of Israel" though I suppose that that's the very thought of the guys in Teheran.
