The article didn't say they were going to arrest them for protesting or interfere with the protesting in any way. It just said they were going to keep an eye on the group.

That's called spying. And the effort that is being put into domestic spying, is effort that is not spent on persons much more likely to be harmful to us. What about all the Saudi nationals that are still in this country? In over 200 years, the Quakers have yet to perform a terrorist act on this country. 15 of the 19 9-11 hijackers were Saudis. Four years and their taskmasters have not been brought to justice.

Governments, regardless of political stripe, all love to accrue more power to themselves, and all despise dissent and accountability. The power that the PA gives this government to incarcerate people indefinitely, without charge or due process, is a power ALL aspirants to high office would love to have.

Do you think that a President Hitlery would ever declare the "war on terror" over, if it meant giving up THAT kind of power? Why, she'd probably pay Al Qaeda to blow up the Sears Tower if people ever started feeling safe again...

Subversion

Advocating, causing, or attempting to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty by any member of the armed forces of the United States or by Department of Defense civilian personnel with the intent to interfere with, impair, or influence the loyalty, morale,
or discipline of such armed forces. During time of war, subversion additionally includes:

(l) making or conveying false reports or false statements with the intent to interfere with the operation or success of the armed forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; and

(2) willfully obstructing or attempting to obstruct the recruitment or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the United States (see 18 USC 2387-88).

As I said, the government has NO right to harass these people or screw with their lives in any way as long as they do nothing illegal. The government has no right to harass or intimidate these people, incarcerate them, conveniently decide to audit their taxes every year for the next five years....none of that. They have every right to keep tabs on them if they have reason to believe they can become a threat.

I have a huge problem with the government holding US citizens in incarceration without affording them their legal rights. But, that's not what this article is about. The article is about the government monitoring anything they deem as a threat or a potential threat or something that could later turn into a potential threat. I seriously doubt this is a new thing.

Hitlery would probably feel free to cart you away in the middle of the night if you said the wrong thing....not just keep tabs on you to make sure you're not planning on blowing something up or something (which is probably what they're doing now).

That's called spying.

Spying is the effort of one group or person to find the secrets of another. In over 200 years, the Quakers have yet to perform a terrorist act on this country

Research the group meeting in the Quaker facility - they are buried deep - and tell me they don't deserve a little spying.

I think you are being hysterical.

At many of these socialists/liberal meetings -- it's an open door invite to any and all to attend. And so if military go and attend this makes them.. what ? No different than anyone else attending those "open" meetings.

Did they bug the meetings? No. They probably took notes, maybe even brought a tape recorder.

So what.
