By issuing this subpoena, Ronnie is admitting that he doesn't yet have the evidence necessary to prove his case. This is last minute flailing about on the part of the Travis County prosecutors office. Now that Judge Priest has kindly given them a theory on which to prosecute, they can go about looking for evidence to meet the standard. What a bunch of bumblers. They wait for the judge to give some coherence to their theory and then they try to color between the lines. Pathetic. I doubt seriously that these subpoenas turn up anything, but my fear is that Ronnie still takes the thing all the way to trial and is able to convince some liberal Travis County jury to convict for whatever.
