Exactly. I think that Hollywood execs who let their left wing ideals override their instincts about what people would really like to see is killing the movie business. Case in point-
I was listening to a talk radio program a couple of weeks ago. (it was either Hannity or Medved) The guest on the show was Vince Flynn. He is the author who wrote "Memorial Day" and was on the show promoting his new book. The hero of Flynn's books is Mitch Rapp, a CIA agent who is fighting the war on terror. This book "Memorial Day" is a tremendous thriller about terrorists trying to smuggle nukes into the U.S. and detonate them in major cities. It was one of the best thrillers I have read in years (and I read alot of them) Anyway the host asks Mr Flynn why these books aren't being made into films. He says that he has met with widespread rejection from studio executives because the books are not PC or anti GWB. He said that one studio exec told him that there was no way that they would make a movie that was so extremely pro Bush (this is regardless of the fact that the fictional president in these books is a Dem who is presented in a very positive way)
That was a real eye opener for me. If the studios are more interested in their political leanings than telling a good story, they are in deep doo doo.
