The ID'ers aren't saying that the world was created in six 24-hour days but that "there is a designer." Anti-ID theistic evolutionists say exactly the same thing. I'll never understand what they're arguing about.

One very subtle but insidious difference between ID and theistic evolution is the removal of motivation for inquiry. The theistic evolutionist believes that God created all according to His natural laws, and that those laws and mechanisms can both be discovered and understood by mankind.

Creationism and ID imply the reverse, that some things just cannot be known and understood, so why try? The danger in this is obvious: remove inquisitiveness or the ability to question, and you have a very easily led flock of sheep.

The Catholic church did quite well by this precept during the Middle Ages because most people could not read Latin. Some mullahs today are also doing very well in pushing their personal agenda on illiterate followers.

According to the "Arab Human Development Report" by the UN the rate of illiterate male is at 30 percent and at 50 percent for the female population.
