Reading the article it seems that the only condemnations came from functionaries in various Socialist and Green parties, not governments.

I note that the Vatican simply reiterated its bolierplate statement on thed eath penalty, and did not buy into the "Tookie was a hero" or "Tookie was innocent" rhetoric.

Also, I find it unlikely that the local Graz city council will change the name of their local stadium from that of their favorite son to that of an American gangster.

The US Catholic Bishops had more discretion than this shoot-from-the-hip Martino.

They kept their mouths shut.
