I don't see any indication that they're being prevented from tapping into it. In fact, Oklahoma is rather energy friendy since they sit atop the Hugoton Gas Field along with Texas, Colorado and Kansas.

My overall point is that the geysers are in Kingfisher. That's about 200 miles east of the known field.

Kingfisher is smack dab in the middle of a "known" oil&gas field -- the Sooner Trend.
