The delight is in justice being done and a malaevolent force being taken from off the earth.

If you do not understand that then you do not understand good and evil.

If we approach the Bible as inerrant and a single unified seamless garment then our only problem becomes dealing with our own lack of spiritual discernment (remedied by studying to show our selves approved unto God in the guidance of the Spirit through the Word) and our lack of logic.

Can the same Son of God who issued Romans 13, Genesis 9:6 and repeatedly demonstrates capital punishment both in his dealings with incorrigible nations and individuals and instructs His followers to implement capital punishment war with what He has established by ordering evil not to be punished?

He instrumented government according to Colossians 1. Can he tear it down by the foundations by abrogating its judicial function.

The answer is, "Of course not."

The Israelites lost their independence as a nation governing themselves according to the Book of Daniel. This will extend until the 69th week when they become their own nation again but pass under the rod in 7 years (the 69th week of years) in the Tribulation.

The Jews as they bear witness before Pilate during the Passion indicate themselves that it is not lawful for them to put any man to death.

The trial, then is a farce similar to the trial of Jesus before Caiaphas and Annas---it is illegal.

Jesus is not teaching that the Law should not judge the woman but that these men---on a personal level---may want to examine their own lives and determine if they could stand before the light of God's law. And if they cannot then perhaps they should abstain from usurping to themselves the judgment which God has committed to the ruling government. Lest they invoke the wrath of God upon themselves for their rebellion.

I could maybe list some commentaries or books which teach what I have just expressed. It is much better to allow the Word to comment upon itself. If we stay in our Bibles and pass from faith to faith, nothing will shake us. My belief, therefore is that these things are evidently true from a serious and dedicated examination of what has to be if God is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Of course Jesus loves the woman He gave His own life so that sinners might live. He is not come as a civil ruler at this point but as the suffering servant and the Savior.

The truths are wonderful and deep. Obviously God could never break His own law---even for love. And yet because Rome and not Jerusalem in in charge of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches, this woman is not put to death. The proper exhortation is that Jesus, instead of ordering her death which He could have done in an absolute sense as the Mighty King of Kings (although these men did not recognize his authority over them), orders her to flee similar sin in the future lest she suffer judgment and punishment.

Well, awful run on sentences and convoluted paragraphs. But I believe theologically sound.

He was not excusing her. And he was not teaching against the same capital punishment he teaches in both Testaments and will utilize against the armies of Antichrist and law breakers in the Millennium.

Thank you for your willingness to discuss the Scripture we both obviously love and seek to follow.

So, it is not in the Scriptures? It's in the minds of some Jews? I have to rely on the Scriptures since God created us and He decides what happens..
