You are right, it would be almost impossible to remove a child completely from the anti-Christian culture of our current public school system. But it is better to remove a child from a program you do not approve of, than to let them participate in that program and only complain about it later.
You have to fight the battles one at a time. Just as the Anti-Christian Liberals fought the battles to bring their anti-Christian views into our public schools, Christians need to fight back with the same vigor and tenacity.
If a nationwide effort was made by parents to pull their kids from these programs, it would give the Liberals one less avenue to push their agenda down our throats, and the throats of our children. At least it would be one battle Christians could easily win.

I read an article where people complained about Bush sending out "happy holidays" cards. They are just doing that because they are sending out a million cards and a lot of the recepients dont celebrate Christmas. The White House is just trying to be polite to non-christians. Its not like Bush converted to Islam
When did I say anything about the Presidents "Holiday" cards?
I don`t see the President out there changing the lyrics of Christmas Carols. Or pushing some anti-Christian agenda.

Heck, my own brother just sent me his "Holiday" card. No mention of Christmas on it anywhere. I don`t think I am going to yell at him when he visits the end of the month.
I think the problem is when a school takes a beloved Christian song and changes it to mean something else. You think the reaction would be any different from the Jewish community if a school changed "Oh Hanukkah" , to say.... "Oh , Mother Earth"?
I won`t even go down the road of what the Muslims might do if a school decided to alter a beloved song of theirs.

Intelligent parent will not let their children near a government school. Just don't send them for any reason at all.

Also,,,,there are enough Christians who are so anxious for their child to display their talents that they would concede.

As a former homeschooler I grieve that I cannot provide my children even the basics enrichments now although I do work 48 hours a week and homeschool 1 and 1/2 of them. But life sometimes changes and one must do one's best.

La Befana ( usually just called Befana ) is the Italian version of Santa Claus. Yes, she is a witch, but she is the one who gives presents to good children and sees who is naughty or nice. This used to take place at Epiphany and her name is a corruption of her original name: EPIPHANIA.
An old woman, Frau Berchta, was the one to bring gifts to good children, in Germany and Austria.
America has Santa Claus because the Dutch, who first settled New York, was the inspiration for the famous poem THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS and this scharactesr bears only a slight resemblance to our present day Santa.
The English had/have Father Christmas, who is skinny, BTW, so American descendants of English and Dutch settlers were comfortable with this figure. And subsequent immigrants adopted the American traditions, that they found here.

I don`t see it that way myself. If anything the liberals would be offended. It would be a message from the Christian communtity and parents that they feel so strong about what they, the liberals, are trying to do to our children that we are willing to pull kids from these assemblies on a national scale. I think it would be a slap in the face the liberals would recognize.
Just as its a slap in the face by the liberals at Christians by changing the lyrics to beloved Christmas songs.
