I think the sentence should be carried out. If Williams has truly repented and made what atonement he can from prison, fine--if God chooses to allow him into Heaven, he can continue his atonement there.

He has, however, forfeited his right to continue his earthly life, no matter how sorry he may be now about having murdered four people.
