I was just remarking that to the best of my recollection, the California governor usually appears live on TV to announce the last minute appeal. I can't remember a CA governor giving clemency.
You'll have to pardon the accuracy of my recollection since it's so infrequent that California hosts an execution.
Exactly why you folks are no good at it. Here in Texas, he would have been past tense about 10 years ago and the world would be spared one bad children's author.
