In whose world exactly? The framework for a republic was laid for close to 500 years prior to the Constitutional Convention. John Locke anyone? Was he writing from Philadelphia and we just didn't know it? Constitutional government in England, late 17th century? Magna Carta? Sigh...I would bother but it's just not worth it.

Isn't it deliciously ironic that the yellow-bellied Pennsylvanian Murtha and the 'rats would have joined the "Tories" during the American Revolution, and refused to fight the British?
