I was there in 1973 & 1974.
I left Medicine Park in 1973, moved to another state.
When I tell people I grew up in Oklahoma they automatically think of the plains. I tell them to just envision taking a pair of scissors, cut out a piece of Colorado, and set it right in the middle of the plains. That's the Wichita Mountains.
Growing up in Medicine Park, my playground was the wildlife refuge. We spent our summers hiking/swimming/fishing and picnicing in the refuge.
