I was stationed at Ft. Sill and spent a good deal of time reading about and wandering in the Wichita Mountains Wild Life refuge during my time off. You can get info about the fault and its activity from the Oklahoma Geological Survey site.

When were you stationed there?

I lived there from age 9 till I turned 18. My Dad had a bait shop/souvenier (sp) store right outside the wildlife refuge. Remember Rex and Grandma's Old Plantation? Rex (now deceased) took me to my first circus, a Shriner Circus in Oklahoma City.

I grew up swimming/fishing in Elmer Thomas, Lawtonka and Quanna Parker lakes. Climbed straight up Mt. Scott many times. Actually rode my skateboard down Mount Scott -- talk about an experience.

I used to walk along the shoreline of Elmer Thomas Lake (about 13, 14 years old) and pretend I was in California and on the beach, with all the surfers wooing me, singing the Beach Boy's song "Surfer Girl." Boy, I had an imagination :)

Many of the lifelong residents living in Medicine Park I grew up with, still have many friends there. I visited one friend last June in Medicine Park, and went to all my old hangouts in the refuge.

I'll check out the geological site, thanks.
