Deceased Native American Memorial Waterway
Well - now we know how the Indian died. (As in - don't drink the water!)
well, I had forgotten, but about 2 years ago, they officially changed the name of Dead Indian Creek to Winter Camp Creek. Of course, all the locals here still call it "Dead Indian Creek" but officially it is now Winter Camp Creek. So, the PC bug has hit here somewhat. However, while driving through town today, I noticed the Christmas decorations outside of the courthouse. One of them was a large display that had the letters J O Y. In the middle of the "O" was a carving depicting the nativity scene. This sits on the major N/S highway west of I-35. US HWY 81 runs right by the courthouse. So, we haven't gone completely PC.
