Mr. Clinton said if the U.S. "had a serious effort to apply clean energy and energy conservation technologies... we could meet and surpass the Kyoto targets in a way that would strengthen our economies". Global warming could lead to a future climate conference being held on "a raft somewhere".

What did Clinton do for eight years when he was President? Nada. There'd be less global warming if Clinton would keep his yap shut.

Want to hear the unbiased truth about the global warming scam? Read Michael Crichton's book State of Fear. EXCELLENT book, rips the facade off the environmental movement's tactics and motives.

Bush Appoints Pres. Clinton as Kyoto Monitor
by Scott Ott

(2005-12-10) — President George Bush today announced he would appoint former President Bill Clinton as the nation’s first official Kyoto monitor, sending him on a “global emissions detection mission.”

In the new role, Sen. Hillary Clinton’s husband will travel the world in a Toyota Prius, and “sniff around smokestacks, without inhaling” in order to find violators of the Kyoto Protocol.

When Mr. Clinton finds a factory, or automobile, that’s emitting high levels of climate-changing pollutants, Mr. Bush said, “He’ll act with the full authority granted under Kyoto to place a green Mr. Yuck sticker on that smokestack or tailpipe.”

“I admire President Clinton’s passion about reducing greenhouse gasses,” said Mr. Bush in making the appointment. “He gets out in front of the facts and leads with his heart, undeterred by questionable research. Even though when he was in the White House he never submitted the Kyoto Protocol to the Senate for a vote, history will remember that he felt strongly about it. That’s what makes him the kind of leader that he is.”

One senior British official said the U.S. negotiators shifted their position on the joint statement because the Bush administration was stung by criticism of its stance in the U.S. press. "Washington is really feeling the heat on this," the official said.

Oh, c'mon. 'Pubbies shift position all the time for no reason at all. This is just Brownian movement.

During the past 2 years, more than 17,100 basic and applied American scientists, two-thirds with advanced degrees, have signed the Global Warming Petition.

Global Warming Petition

We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.

...and what did the "Bent One" do on his watch to achieve the results he now scorns President Bush for not addressing?

Clinton faults Bush policy on climate change

Bush policies are responsible only for the part of climate change. Second hand smoking is also important. Sign Kyoto treaty, make smoking illegal and hurricanes will disappear.

Before we side with either Bush or Clinton, we have to examine which one is more believable. Clinton was considered the best liar, even during his tenure by his own party, and Bush is considered a liar mostly by the opposition party. To my knowledge, no rape allegation has been leveled against GW Bush. And, if one was, I suspect that he would have addressed that accusation in short order. Mr Clinton has not and IMHO is not a believable person........
