The name of the movie is "Shadowlands". Lovely movie about Lewis and Joy.
Right. Thanks. Still a chick flick.
We went to see it Friday. It's a phoenomenal movie. My kids (teens) thought it was better than "Finding Nemo". They think it will be a great hit and so do I. For parents: take kleenex with you for the scene where Aslan is killed. I'm not a crier at movies but..... it even got to me.
hmmmmmm......
OMG...that's hysterical! Typical 'New England' male lion...I see them all the time.
If they had those lions as statues in front of the New York Public Library, more people would be reading.
Or, looking at the pictures.
The same people who say that an American Christain film won't be popular in post-Christain Britain are probably the same people who are eager to market that gay cowboy movie (I think there are more Christains in Britain than gay cowboys). And if it were a pro-Islamist or pro-Wiccan film, the critics would all proclaim how important it is that everyone sees the film in order to "appreciate" a minority religion. Of course, "diversity" is suddenly a bad thing if it includes Christains.
Thanks for the link to that website. Freepers have hooked me up to the best websites!
"Shadowlands". Anthony Hopkins as CS Lewis.

Well, young son, because their either playing leapfrog or having a somersault contest.
Certainly there is nothing remotely as tendentious in The Chronicles as Pullman's attacks in His Dark Materials against Christianity. "For all its history," a benevolent witch tells Lyra Belacqua and Will Parry, the young protagonists of the series, the Church "has tried to suppress and control every natural impulse. ... That's what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling." As for God, a rebellious angel later tells the children, "God, the Creator, the Lord, Yahweh, El, Adonai, the King, the Father, the Almighty ... was never the creator. He was an angel like ourselves ... [who] told those who came after him that he had created them, but it was a lie." In one of the last scenes of the trilogy, the children watch God die. "Demented and powerless," Pullman writes, "the aged being could only weep and mumble in fear and pain and misery." Every Christian character in the series is rotten to the core, and none of them bothers to pretend otherwise. "The Christian religion," one of Pullman's main characters blandly explains, "is a very powerful and convincing mistake, that's all." Oh.
And this clown Pullman received England's highest literary prize for his tripe. Geez, no wonder England considers itself "post-Christian."
I'd rather be from Jesusland than "post-Christian" Elite-land any day.
Wow. The athiest Democrats want to kill all public displays of Christianity by everybody. Wait until some government school teacher shows this to her class someday. The Democrats and their ACLU allies will be all over that school like stink on dogpoop.
Full Disclosure: Whatever happened to "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" ??
Well, I know that the Seventh Day Adventist Church has a free showing next Sun. that we are going to. We aren't Adventists, but my son goes to an SDA school, so we get in on the freebies.
He doesn't have to worry about her...she's not in that Gay Cowboy movie.she would be perfectly safe.
BTW one of her sons (Lewis's stepson) was co-producer of Narnia.
They're trying to build word of mouth. But at the end of the day Christians won't see a film just because it's got a Christian message. It has to be good.
Speaking just for myself -- there's not a film out there now that I really want to see. The ticket is about ten bucks, adding on a medium popcorn, medium soda and Twizzlers, it comes to over twenty bucks.
I'm sorry, but I don't have a citation on hand.
It was from a case that was mentioned on one of the Coral Ridge
(D. James Kennedy) segments that they often run on current events.
IIRC, the case was in Kentucky, Tenn. or adjacent state.
