What do you mean, "nice try"? Is waterboarding something you would allow? I consider it torture; so do many others, in the military and congress. The fact that our troops are trained to experience it - in case they're tortured by captors who adopt uncivilized tactics -- is hardly an argument for the United States of America to stoop to such tactics. Definitely it's something that should be outlawed by a measure such as McCain's, if that's what's required to outlaw it. Waterboarding was introduced, as I understand, during the 16th century wars of religion, as one of the options to using the to the rack on heretics.

Oh, okay. So waterboarding should be outlawed. For our troops and the terrorists. I'll give you that -- if it's outlawed for our troops, then outlaw it for the terrorists. But otherwise, forget it.
